In loving memory...
Last night I went to a friend's (Katie Rush) funeral. She was a member of my Graphics glass from design school at KU. We all had (and still have) a special bond because of the long hours, extended crits, jokes-a-plenty, KU games, and parties. Several members of our class attended to pay respects and it was a sad day/weekend. I wasn't extremely close to her after graduation but did get to hang out while visiting in Chicago. She was always so chipper and easy to talk to whenever I saw her. She could start up a conversation with anyone about anything at any time. At the service, qualities were mentioned that we had/have in common: our senses book designs, type class designs, portfolios, painting, drawing, and our love of the smell of a fresh box of crayons...something I've learned over the past year or so is that EVERYone has a story. A story about joy, anger, sadness, goofiness, stress, pain and hunger. Rest in peace, Katie. Your spirit will not be forgotten.
