In April, I participated in DIFFA's Dining By Design 2008 event by donating my time and energy to decorate a Halls table for attendees. In Kansas City, it was held at the Hyatt and my team (two other colleagues-now friends-and myself) planned and put together a fabulous table. Our theme was 'Modern Green Garden Party' and inspired by the Delano Hotel in Miami, FL. It was clean and modern with a color palette of crisp white, green and glossy black. I was so proud of us for pulling it together after a couple months of planning, hunting, and gathering. The embroidered pillows pictured were our party favors (and my favorite part!). We were even able to attend the swanky event and had a blast. I met some other really great people that I admire for their creative abilities. For me, nothing is better than doing something you love while making a difference. As Gestalt says, "The whole is more than the sum of it's parts." Perfect for applying design to charity events.
